Interpretation software based on the proven Glasgow Royal
Infirmary algorithm, which takes into account five key variables: age, gender,
race, clinical classification and drugs.
Storage of up to 40 ECGs
Glasgow Royal Infirmary Interpretive ECG Algorithm Continuously Updated Over 30 Years
The Eclipse systems utilize the Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) interpretive algorithm to provide a "silent second opinion" on the electrocardiogram. Developed by Professor Peter Macfarlane, a pioneer in computerized electrocardiography, it has been continuously updated and improved over the past 30 years to stay in the forefront of electrocardiographic research. Today, the GRI algorithm provides documented sensitivity and specificity, with these unique clinical advantages:
- The interpretive program takes age, gender, race, medications, and clinical classification into account to provide a more accurate interpretation.
- Clear, plain-English reason statements (such as "high voltages in limb leads" instead of "R in I > 1.4 mV") to provide insight into interpretive calls.
- A pediatric program, with optional use of V4R instead of V3, and limits based on continuous age-based equations (instead of simple look-up tables), to take into account the unique anatomy and continuous development of the neonate and pediatric patient.
- Optional long and short interpretation results give just the right amount of
information to suit your needs.
Leading the Way with Non-Proprietary ECG Communications
ECG data transmission and storage are often considered proprietary technology. At Burdick, we believe that this is your data and you should not be constrained by a restrictive approach to information management.
For this reason, we have adopted a non-proprietary communication technology for transmitting and storing ECGs. This protocol, the Standard Communications Protocol for Electrocardiography (SCP-ECG) is a published, international standard, allowing connectivity between instruments and systems. With SCP-ECG, compatible systems can transmit, store and receive electrocardiograms with full waveform fidelity - a true open system.
