Entering
Patient Data
1. From main screen Select New,
and enter patient information shown in New Patient
screen.
2. Enter numbers directly using the numeric keypad on the
Spirometer or the
Alpha Character mode.
3. Press the Soft key "ABC"... to initiate entry
of characters for patient data.
NOTE: The
ABC.../123... function is similar to the Numlock Key on a PC
keyboard (ABC... allows alpha and numeric characters. 123...
allows numeric only).
4. Press Next to move to the next screen
and add more information.
5. Press Done to save information and
return to main screen.
Perform a FVC Test
6. Select Test from the main menu. When
the "Pre Med Test" screen appears, use the
Cursor Arrow Keys or the appropriate numeric
key to select the FVC test option
7. Swipe the sensor or enter the numeric
code. Keep the Sensor and Spirometer steady
when the Spirometer displays "Sensor
Zeroing In Progress"
8. Instruct the patient to put the sensor
in their mouth and close teeth and lips around
the sensor.. take a deep breath.
9. Instruct the patient to blow hard, fast and completely squeezing all the air out of
their lungs.
10. Follow the incentives displayed at the top of the screen or press Help.
NOTE: Real Time graphics of a Flow-Volume graph, Volume-Time graph, or an incentive
format may be viewed by selecting the appropriate Soft Keys shown on the illustration.
11. The results will be displayed on the left side of the screen when completed.
12. Select Save to save the test results or
Discard to delete unsuccessful tests.
13. Repeat FVC test until three successful FVC maneuvers are completed.
Post Medication Test
To complete a post medication test return to
"Pre Med Test" , Select the Post Soft Key and
repeat the Test Process.
Printing Report
Using a standard PC compatible parallel printer
cable, connect the printer to the parallel port on
the Base Station. Verify the configuration set-
tings match the printer. For a list of compatible
printers contact Spirometry Technical Support at
1-800-255-6774 (Press Option 1).
14. Dock the Spirometer in the Base Station.
15. Verify the Base Station is connected to a printer.
16. Check the printer status to ensure the
printer is on-line and ready to print.
17. Select Print from the main screen of the Spirometer.
After Print is selected the following "Select
Report" screen will appear.
18. Choose the desired printout by selecting the appropriate numeric key or
scroll to the option using the Cursor Arrow Keys and press Enter.
